On January 19th 2023, Roy Oldfield one of our cherished members spoke to the club as our special guest. He runs the 50/50 draws and always gives a relaxed, smiling effort.
Roy gave us a behind the scene picture of who the Masons are and what they do. They are a generous men’s Society which started in England. They meet regularly and raise money for various charities and are a very active in many worthwhile causes.
On October 20th, 2022 John Percy was our special guest. John loves to share his infectious knowledge of Stars and the Universe. The formation of Black Holes and what they are in layman’s terms made this chat a revelation of new territory for all in attendance or on Zoom.
On September 15th 2022, Sue Hyatt the owner of Silver Sherpa a life planning business came and spoke to the club. She has the knowledge to help you get your life in control. She explained how planning early can make your senior years a lot more fun and under your control. We all left the meeting with a better idea of what we have to do to enjoy our later years.
Part 2 – Sue Hyatt – Living in Control
Sue Hyatt shared her enthusiasm and knowledge on each one of us preparing for our lives in Retirement as Seniors. We learn that so many people do not adequately prepare wisely for their retirement and they leave a mess for their family to sort out.
Sue showed us a step by step process for making life and death go the way we want it to.
On June 16th 2022, Barbara Bonafacio is an enthusiastic lady who helps business employees and individuals stay healthy. She has a series of fitness programs to help you stay active and energized. Soon after the meeting started she asked all of us to stand up and go thru some of her routines which were a lot of fun.
Gerry Sutton is a long standing member of our Probus Club. On May 19th 2022 he shared with us his memories of what it was like as a child to live thru World War 2 in London and in the country. Suddenly one day you are told you will have to leave your family and live in the north of England with another family until the War is over. Not a fun time, but part of life.
On January 1st. 2022 we had the special guest Tim Burrows. Tim is a Tesla car owner who has a lot of knowledge about the Electric Car Industry. During his presentation he gave us lots of facts, figures and wisdom about comparing Electric Cars to gas cars. We left this talk with a better understanding of why Electric cars are the future of the automotive industry.
